Couqley
Well Recognized French Bistro
Details
Review by Souad
Couqley is a very famous French bistro in Beirut with two branches in Gemmayzeh and Dbayeh. The restaurant’s menu offers the traditional French musts from the soupe à l’oignon to the traditional entrecôte. In addition, if you’re a wine lover, you’ll be thrilled with the wine variety.
The Gemmayzeh branch has an inside hall and a terrace. The design of the restaurant is very typical of a French bistro with a warm atmosphere.
Couqley is famous for its good cuisine but when we visited the restaurant we didn’t appreciate the experience. The meat was less than average and the service was awful. I had a fly in my salad so I didn’t eat it. When the server came to take the plates, he saw the fly but didn’t apologize or react.
Prices are higher than average but some people think it’s worth it.
