Em Sherif is an elegant Lebanese restaurant with outstanding decoration and delicious food. At Em Sherif, you don’t choose from a menu, the restaurant only offers one formula with a set of cold and hot mezze in addition to main courses and grills. As soon as you are ready, a series of mezze starts to land on the table: the classics like tabouleh, fattoush, tajen, french fries… and some old recipes like kebbet la2tin, kebbe 2arnabiyeh, man2oush keshek. I loved their fattoush, hendbeh, kebbet batenjen and especially their ouzi. At the end of the meal, they bring you traditional desserts like meghli and mhallabiyeh…

The restaurant has an original Arabic interior design with old plates on a wall, a seemingly broken ceiling, arabesque mirrors, all in an orchestra of colors and shapes. Our table was a mirror covered with an organza tablecloth.

The service is caring and professional. Prices are way higher than average. The formula for lunch is at 35$ and for dinner with live music 60$ excluding arguileh and drinks. Some people say that Em Sherif is worth the high prices, others say it’s not. Personally, I think that it’s suitable for a lunch but excessive for a dinner. Headliners – Zalka

Headliners is a café restaurant inaugurated on 2012 new year’s eve. The restaurant has the same spirit as its neighbors in Zalka: huge restaurant, high ceiling, glass front wall, arguileh, Lebanese and International menu…

Headliners chose the dark red color and wood for the interior design. The menu offers the same as the neighboring restaurants: International and Lebanese classics. The meal we had there was good. The service was very friendly but has done some mistakes in the order. Prices are within the average of restaurants of the kind. We were there on a cold day, the place was very cold. I hope that they will solve the problem soon.

Mcharrabiya – Zalka

Mcharrabiya is a huge sophisticated restaurant aiming to have a higher standing than Zalka’s café restaurants. The restaurant has a nice interior hall and a terrace. It’s internally and externally decorated with carved wood inspired from the restaurant’s name. Violet and green are used in decoration and furniture and go well with the msharrabiyas.

Mcharrabiya’s menu is 100% Lebanese offering a very wide variety of traditional and special mezze, grills and fish. The service is very Lebanese-like, so at moments you feel that it’s too much.

In addition to its regular activity, the restaurant hosts events (weddings, receptions…) and provides catering services. Prices are above average.

Mini B

Mini B is an international diner with 4 branches: Mazraat Yashouh, Hazmieh Highway, Jdeideh and lately Zalka. We have visited the Zalka branch recently. The Zalka diner is small and the design is warm.

The menu gathers the International classic choice: starters, man2oush, pizza, sandwiches, crepes, platters…

The service is friendly and fast, the food is good and the bill is less expensive than average. The diner relies a lot on its 24 hour delivery and presents very attractive delivery offers.

Vapiano – Citymall

Vapiano is an International chain with an original concept: an Italian restaurant where you choose your ingredients and order directly from the open cuisine.

The waiter gives you a magnetic card with the menu, you can choose your meal between the variety of appetizers, salads, pizza and pasta. When your mind is set, you head to the bar where you can find three counters: one for appetizers and salads, one for pizza and one for pasta. You go to the counter of your order, you give the chef your magnetic card and you tell him what you want and how you want it. You can choose the ingredients of your choice for each plate and watch the chef prepare it. At the end, you don’t need a bill, you go to counter and pay through your magnetic card.

We have ordered a salad and a pasta, they were both delicious. The service is friendly and helpful. Prices are below Italian restaurants’ average.

Spot – Antelias

Spot is a casual restaurant in Antelias’ restaurants road. It’s located between Petit Café and Public. Spot has a nice terrace surrounded with trees. The ambiance is calm with a nice lighting.

The menu offers a varied choice between mezze, salads, pizza, platters… What we have tasted was good and the service was friendly.

Frida – Ashrafieh

Frida is a chic restaurant nested in old house in a lovely alley in Ashrafieh. The restaurant is calm and cozy. It has an external terrace and an inside with several rooms adding intimacy to the tables. The musical ambiance is nice with a mix between Latin and Arabic music.

Frida offers an original mix of Lebanese and Mexican cuisines. The result is excellent in the traditional and twisted food.

The restaurant’s prices are above average but the professional service, the quality of the food and the warm atmosphere make it worth it.

I would recommend Frida for group dinners, business or couples.

Yoshi – Mansourieh

Yoshi is a small Japanese restaurant on Mansourieh road. The restaurant has around ten tables arranged around a big square bar used by the cooks. The interior design is modern with a combination of wood and stone.

The menu offers the classics of a Japanese restaurant in addition to some innovations of the chef. The food quality is standard and the service is friendly.

Deek Duke

As its name implies, Deek Duke offers a variety of dishes based on chicken, but also some with beef. The restaurant has two branches, one in Ashrafieh and one in Hamra. We have visited the Hamra branch, the restaurant has two floors: one smoking and one non-smoking. The decoration is modern and young.

Menu includes a variety of international starters, salads, sandwiches, burgers and platters in addition to pizza and pasta. Most of the proposed food is traditional while some has a special DD twist that is not bad. The service is fast and friendly.

If you parked your car at Hamra Crown plaza, don’t forget to mention it to the waiter because they will offer you the parking ticket.
