Zalka, Ashrafieh

Between 13$ and 18$

Review by Souad

Square Café Zalka opened its doors in October 2010. The restaurant is eye-catching with its glowing design. The designers have thought it all: from the large entrance stairs, exterior mosaic walls and the impressive terrace to the remarkable hall with its high ceiling, glass facades, huge bar, modern chandeliers and living colors on the walls.

The restaurant offers the “traditional” international menu: Lebanese mezze and grill, pizza, pasta, burger… Prices are lower than average and food is good.

Our only concern was smoke, every table surrounding us had ordered at least one arguileh. Although our table was on the terrace, we ordered the bill quickly after finishing the meal.

Square Café is worth trying especially if you’re into Arguileh.

I went last year to Square Cafe for the first and last time.
I didn't like the food nor the atmosphere and the service was average.
The tables were very close to each others, there was too much noise and I suffocated with the nargileh.

I wouldn't advice anyone to go to that restaurant! It is not just average, it is below the acceptable level!

Wonderful food, excellent service and quality place. I went with family for iftar ramadan and it was the best iftar we had all the month.

One of the worst restaurants in Beirut! You would find hair in your platter and when you claim it, you would have a replacement after around half an hour then they charge you the replacement.
    Service NILL.
Overall I would never go back there again!

Amaret Chalhoub, near Nahr el Mot. If you’re coming from Beirut through the highway, take the first exit after Nahr el Mot’s pedestrian bridge. Once you’re on Zalka main street, you’ll find the restaurant in front of you.

From Sassine square, go down towards KFC, Saydeh church will be on your right. Continue and the restaurant is 10 m before the circulation light.
